Two‐Way Assessment of Ionospheric Maps Performance Over the Brazilian Region: Global Versus Regional Products

چکیده

Abstract Vertical total electron content (VTEC) has great importance in describing the ionosphere. VTEC values are commonly distributed regular grids by means of so‐called global ionospheric maps (GIMs) and regional (RIMs). Although considerable research been conducted to develop models, there is no clear understanding benefits using RIMs over GIMs. Aiming contribute this discussion, our investigation presents a comparison between seven considering two approaches: (a) ionosonde data‐based assessment (b) navigation satellite systems (GNSS) positioning assessment. A challenging low latitude ionosphere scenario, Brazilian region, was selected during week with an active geomagnetic storm. The results data have shown better performance RIM products named OTHR OTRG. Among products, CODG UQRG best performances. worst were obtained Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais. GNSS led larger noisier errors close equatorial anomaly. Two analyzed presented expected large stations at edges coverage area. To overcome issue, hybrid product proposed extend covered region. (OTRG) domain.

assessment of the park- ang damage index for performance levels of rc moment resisting frames

the present study sought to investigate the role of dynamic assessment (da) in improvement of iranian efl writing performance at different language proficiency levels. to this end, after conducting the quick placement test, 60 iranian efl learners were assigned to two groups with different language proficiency levels. in both groups each participant wrote two compositions, one before and one af...

static versus dynamic assessment of l2 learners’ reading ability

dynamic assessment according to vygotskys sociocultural theory, states that instruction and assessment are interrelated. using static forms of assessment with second and foreign language students could do more harm than good. many teachers neglect to take account of the complexity involved in learning a second or foreign language and often wonder why learning of a language take so long. thi...

Ionospheric Correction Based on Ingestion of Global Ionospheric Maps into the NeQuick 2 Model

The global ionospheric maps (GIMs), generated by Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) and Center for Orbit Determination in Europe (CODE) during a period over 13 years, have been adopted as the primary source of data to provide global ionospheric correction for possible single frequency positioning applications. The investigation aims to assess the performance of new NeQuick model, NeQuick 2, in pre...

assessment of the efficiency of s.p.g.c refineries using network dea

data envelopment analysis (dea) is a powerful tool for measuring relative efficiency of organizational units referred to as decision making units (dmus). in most cases dmus have network structures with internal linking activities. traditional dea models, however, consider dmus as black boxes with no regard to their linking activities and therefore do not provide decision makers with the reasons...
